Instead, all events are taken to be caused directly by God himself. (A related theory, which has been called 'occasional causation', also denies a link of efficient causation between mundane events, but may differ as to the identity of the true cause that replaces them). The theory states that the illusion of efficient causation between mundane events arises out of God's habitual causing of one event after another. However, there is no necessary connection between the two: it is not that the first event causes God to cause the second event: rather, God first causes one and then causes the other. Q. I really liked or need. At times, he asks my daughter what I liked but seldom gives me that and just give me what he likes. I know it may hurt him if I exchange his gifts, but I feel it would be a waste not to use them if I will just keep them. I don't think you're being rude if you -or your daughter- told him what you would like to get, and he still doesn't give you what you wanted. And, it would -definitely- be wasteful to just keep the gifts and never use them. Your husband should try a little harder to LISTEN to what you're asking for, instead of just wasting money on things you won't even use. When we get someone a gift, we should buy things that the recipient would like, not things that we'd like her/him to have. And even after 20 years of marriage, most men don't have the slightest idea of what their wives' likes or dislikes are.
